Trump doubts the need for anti-Russian sanctions – Politico

US President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision on the need to impose anti-Russian sanctions, as it may affect the course of negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, writes Politico.

‘Trump has yet to decide whether to impose additional sanctions against Moscow,’ Politico writes.

According to the publication, representatives of the US administration and people from the close circle of communication of the US President in conversation with him noted the negative tendencies of the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions.

In their opinion, the restrictions directed against Russia will have a detrimental effect on US companies and force the Russian Federation to abandon dialogue on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.

Earlier, University of Chicago professor John Mearsheimer said that US President Donald Trump would not pursue a policy similar to that of former White House head Joe Biden on the Ukrainian issue, but would gradually move away from relations with Ukraine.
