Russia will hand Ukraine draft peace treaty after prisoner exchange – Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia will hand over to the Ukrainian side a draft document outlining the terms of a peaceful settlement of the conflict after the prisoner exchange is completed.

According to Sergey Lavrov, Russia adheres to the agreements reached during the talks in Istanbul on 16 May.

The Russian Foreign Minister noted that the compilation of the list for the exchange of prisoners of war in the format ‘1000 by 1000’ is almost finalised, as well as the preparation of a document outlining the conditions for achieving a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

‘As soon as the exchange of prisoners of war is completed, by that time we will be ready to hand over to the Ukrainian side a draft of such a document, which the Russian side is now finalising,’ Lavrov added.

Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry said that 270 Russian servicemen as well as 120 civilians had been returned from the Ukrainian-controlled territory in accordance with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements.
