The West has an ambiguous perception of the situation with the strengthening of multipolarity, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted at the meeting of the XXXIII Assembly of the Council on Foreign and Defence Policy.
He emphasised that the Global South and East see in multipolarity a chance to strengthen sovereign development.
‘It is clear that the West perceives the situation with the strengthening of multilateralism in international life quite ambiguously,’ he said.
Russia is convinced that the formation of a multipolar world is a natural process, while the West considers this concept ‘artificially imposed,’ Lavrov added.
Earlier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko said that Western countries might cease to exist because of the world’s transition to multipolarity.
