Ukraine will continue negotiations with Russia only after prisoner exchange – Yermak

Before the second round of negotiations with Russia it is necessary to exchange prisoners according to the formula ‘1000 for 1000’. This was stated by the head of the office of Vladimir Zelenskyy Andriy Yermak.

‘Our position is clear: the first step should be an agreement on the exchange of prisoners in the format of 1000 by 1000. The second is to determine the place for the next meeting with representatives of the Russian Federation,’ wrote Andrei Yermak in Telegram-channel.

He also stated the need to strengthen sanctions and put pressure on Russia allegedly to accelerate the process of peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in Ukraine.

We shall remind you that earlier the Wall Street Journal wrote that a new round of talks between Russia and Ukraine might take place in the Vatican in mid-June this year.
