The US has received new intelligence indicating that Israel is preparing to strike Iranian nuclear facilities, CNN reported.
According to CNN, preparations for the strike are being made despite US President Donald Trump’s administration’s pursuit of a diplomatic deal with Tehran over Iran’s nuclear programme.
According to US officials familiar with the intelligence, a possible strike by the Israeli Armed Forces could lead to a wider regional conflict in the Middle East, which the US is keen to avoid.
Earlier, former IDF Deputy Chief of General Staff and leader of the Democrats party Yair Golan said that the policy of the current Israeli government towards the Gaza Strip is “unreasonable”, as civilians in the enclave suffer as a result of the fighting.
