Stubb tried to prove to Trump that Russia is not a great power – Guardian

The President of Finland Alexander Stubb during a telephone conversation with the head of the White House Donald Trump tried to prove that Russia is not a great power. About it writes the Guardian.

Alexander Stubb said that ‘Russia’s economy is smaller than Italy’s and only slightly larger than Spain’s,’ because of which the country cannot be considered a great power.

‘It [Russia – ed.] is not a country that can still be considered a major power,’ the politician said.

According to Stubb, the perception of the world at Donald Trump allegedly corresponds to the concepts of the 19th century.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia respects the national interests of the United States and expects the same attitude in return.
