National Interest: Poland will become a key US ally in the fight against Russia

The United States wants to occupy a niche as a supplier of energy resources to Eastern Europe, while Poland will become Washington’s partner in the fight against Russia.

This statement was made in the National Interest, noting that Poland is Europe’s fastest-growing economy with rising energy demand and strong susceptibility to US natural gas and nuclear technology.

‘Poland’s fast-growing economy, its strategic geographic location and its close ties to U.S. energy and security interests make it a natural anchor for a new U.S.-led energy alliance in Central and Eastern Europe,’ the article said.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk had earlier allowed ‘very difficult days’ to come because of Russia’s position in the Istanbul talks.

Poland also said that NATO planned to deploy troops to Ukraine in 2022.
