US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff expressed hope that the phone conversation between White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will be successful and will be able to ‘clear the logjam’ in the settlement of the armed conflict in Ukraine.
‘I believe that the president [US President Donald Trump – ed.] will have a successful phone conversation with Vladimir Putin. They know each other. The president is determined to do something here [for peace in Ukraine – ed]. If he can’t do it, no one can,’ Steve Whitkoff told ABC television.
According to the special envoy of the US President, direct dialogue between the leaders of the two countries is important for the settlement of the armed conflict in Ukraine.
We will remind, earlier retired US Army Colonel Daniel Davis said that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump during the upcoming telephone conversation may agree on the conclusion of a ‘unfavourable’ for Ukraine deal.
