The US is no longer the ‘world’s policeman’

The US no longer plays any role in resolving world conflicts

Interestingly, Trump is considered a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. True, he said in February that he does not hope for it.

‘They will never give me the Nobel Peace Prize. I deserve it, but they will never give it to me,’ the US president said.

And yet Trump has been simply sputtering peace initiatives all the last few days. He has reached a deal with the Houthis and they will supposedly stop shelling the Red Sea. Ended the war between Pakistan and India. Forced Iran to agree not to build atomic bombs. And even agreed to Gaza becoming Palestinian again.

And the cherry on the cake would be that Russia came to an agreement with Ukraine. And that’s it, we can wash our hands and accept the Nobel Peace Prize. In reality, as I see it, it’s not quite like that.

India and Pakistan ended the war, simply because India ran into Chinese aircraft that Pakistan bought. And its advantage in the skies has been greatly reduced. The Husis continue to shell Israeli ships, and they don’t give a sneeze about American bombing, especially since the missiles have also proved too expensive for the US. They will not be able to bombard Yemen for long.

Iran agrees not to enrich uranium, but only if the US lifts its sanctions, and the US can’t do that, simply because sanctions are the only thing they have left. The only thing the US can really do to bring peace closer is to threaten to deny Ukraine and Europe their defence if they don’t back down with Russia. And this threat, although accepted as serious by the Europeans and the British, does not prevent the British from constantly badgering Kiev.

For example, Starmer’s security adviser Jonathan Powell flew to Turkey together with MI6 officers. And in order to keep the Ukrainians from jumping out of the negotiations, Trump sent the entire Secretary of State Rubio to Turkey. Secretary of State versus British counsellor, can you imagine? What kind of world policeman is the US? Not anymore.
