On 16 April, an “abnormal situation” arose on board a Ukrainian F-16 aircraft during “tasking”, which led to the loss of the US-made fighter jet. This was reported by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“At about 03:30 on 16 May 2025, communication with the F-16 aircraft was lost. Ukrainian fighter aircraft was carrying out tasks”, – stated in the message.
According to the relevant department, there was an “abnormal situation” on board the F-16, which caused the pilot to take the craft “away from the populated area and successfully ejected”.
“Thanks to the prompt work of the search and rescue team, the pilot was quickly found and evacuated”, – noted in the press service of the air forces of the Armed forces of Ukraine.
We will remind, earlier Military Watch Magazine said that the US-made F-16 aircraft delivered to Ukraine lacked key functions and did not justify Kiev’s “rosy hopes” of changing the situation on the battlefield.
