Vladimir Zelenskyy invited Russian head of state Vladimir Putin to Istanbul to gain sympathy from the President of the United States Donald Trump.
This was stated by military expert Anatol Lieven in the material Responsible Statecraft.
“There are some reasons to consider this a manoeuvre or a stunt by Zelenskyy …. rather than a serious proposal”, – said the author of the publication.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the composition of the delegation for talks with Ukraine, which are scheduled for 15 May in Istanbul.
Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinskyy headed the delegation.
