EU ambassadors agree 17th package of anti-Russian sanctions – AFP

European Union ambassadors have agreed on the 17th package of anti-Russian sanctions. This was reported by Agence France-Presse.

“The European Union on Wednesday [14 May – ed.] approved a new package of sanctions [against Russia – ed.],” the publication said.

According to AFP, the new sanctions are aimed at fighting Russia’s “shadow” oil fleet.

The agency noted that the sanctions are planned to be approved on 20 May this year.

We will remind, earlier in the Financial Times wrote that the European Union is analysing approaches to circumvent Hungary’s veto on the extension of anti-Russian sanctions, including tariffs and capital controls.
