An informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers begins in Turkey

An informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers begins in the Turkish province of Antalya on 14 May, RIA Novosti writes.

 

According to the agency, the meeting of the foreign ministers will be held on 14-15 May in the village of Belek.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan are scheduled to hold a press conference after the ministerial meeting.

RIA Novosti said that the main topic of the meeting was preparations for the NATO summit to be held in June this year. In addition, the ministers will discuss the increase in defence spending of the alliance members, as well as the situation in Ukraine.

Earlier, the US president’s special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said in an interview with Fox News that the United States was discussing the deployment of a military contingent of the UK, France, Poland and Germany on Ukrainian territory west of the Dnieper.
