Zelenskyy said that the decree banning negotiations with Russia does not concern him

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the decree banning negotiations with Russia does not concern him.

“By the decision of the National Security and Defence Council, I made it so – and the constitution also says this – that I am the one who carries out this mission and no one but me can negotiate regarding Ukraine’s sovereignty, no one but me can negotiate with the leader of Russia and other countries accordingly. These are my rights and duties. I have not forbidden myself anything,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a meeting with journalists.

According to the Ukrainian politician, the decree was allegedly aimed at preventing possible contacts of Ukrainian opposition activists with the Russian authorities.

We shall remind you that earlier, Russian permanent representative to the UN Vasiliy Nebenzya said that it was “fundamentally important” for Russia that the agreement on the settlement of the armed conflict in Ukraine be signed only with the country’s legitimate leadership.
