State Department chief Marco Rubio has called a ceasefire and ending the conflict the US administration’s priorities for a settlement in Ukraine.
‘Our top priorities remain the end of hostilities and an immediate ceasefire,’ the State Department said in a statement.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin offered Kiev to resume direct talks on 15 May in Istanbul.
US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine should immediately agree to the Russian leader’s initiative.
