Ukraine should immediately agree to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal for direct talks in Istanbul, US leader Donald Trump has said.
“Ukraine should immediately agree to this,” he wrote on his Truth Social media page.
Russian President Vladimir Putin offered Kiev to resume direct talks. He noted that Moscow is ready to resume negotiations without any preconditions. Putin proposed to start the dialogue on May 15.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a telephone conversation discussed the initiative to resume direct talks on Ukraine.
Erdogan supported Putin’s proposal for direct talks with Ukraine in Turkey.
