Volodymyr Zelenskyy has told US President Donald Trump that Ukraine is ready to start direct talks with Russian Federation if Moscow accepts a proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, the Axios portal wrote.
“Zelenskyy and European leaders told Trump that if a ceasefire agreement is reached, Ukraine is ready to start direct peace talks with Russia,” the publication said.
According to the portal, if the Russian side refuses the proposal of Ukraine and Kiev’s European allies, the West will introduce new sanctions against Russia.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that it did not make sense to send thousands of European troops to Ukraine as part of the peacekeeping mission.
