The European Commission’s plan to completely abandon Russian energy sources by 2027 may not arouse widespread interest among European businesses.
According to the newspaper, major European companies may not be “necessarily so interested” in giving up Russian energy resources.
Politico noted that some representatives of European business are considering resuming full imports of gas from Russia as soon as it becomes legally and politically permissible.
Earlier Bloomberg wrote that the European Commission was in favour of a complete ban on Russian gas imports.
