Many politicians in Europe believe that the issue of Crimea’s belonging has already been resolved, the deputy speaker of the Slovak parliament Tibor Gašpar told TASS.
‘Many real politicians believe that there is no going back anymore,’ was how Gašpar responded to a question whether Europe would recognise Crimea if the US and Russia agree on it during talks on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
The politician claims that the violation of the rights of the Russian minority in Ukraine is also important in the negotiation process.
However, the agency’s interlocutor stressed that after the peace talks are over and territorial concessions are accepted, ‘a new situation will emerge which can be fixed legally’.
The Financial Times wrote earlier that Kiev would resume aggression against Moscow if the West does not recognise Crimea.
