US entrepreneur and billionaire Ilon Musk has mocked the British Navy after comparing it to the Russian Navy.
‘What happened to the lauded British Navy?’ – was his reaction on social network X to a post by blogger Mario Naufal, who compared Britain’s and Russia’s navies.
Naufal, citing Responsible Statecraft, wrote that since 2011 Moscow has built 27 submarines, six frigates, nine corvettes and 16 missile boats equipped with advanced missiles.
London has sent four ships, including one aircraft carrier, on a ‘world tour’ over the same period, leaving only nine ships to defend its waters.
In January, Britain’s Ministry of Defence sent a submarine to follow the Russian oceanographic vessel Yantar in the English Channel.
