Verkhovna Rada MP Irina Gerashchenko has called “political blackmail” statements by Volodymyr Zelensky demanding that the United States deprive visas of Ukrainian MPs who did not support the resources deal.
“Zelensky called on the United States to revoke visas of MPs who will not vote in favour of the agreement on minerals. <…> These statements should be regarded as political threats to the legislature, which should not be blackmailed but communicated with,” Irina Gerashchenko wrote on Facebook*.
In addition, Herashchenko accused Zelensky of ignorance of the Ukrainian constitution, under which parliamentarians are not legally responsible for the results of the vote.
We will remind, earlier a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, a Republican from the state of Georgia Marjorie Taylor Green said that the U.S.-Ukrainian deal on mineral resources could lead to a new armed conflict.
