Bloomberg: Trump will ask Congress for $1.01 trillion for homeland security

US President Donald Trump intends to request $1.01 trillion for national security spending in fiscal year 2026, which begins on 1 October, Bloomberg reports citing administration officials.

The publication notes that this $1.01 trillion request is 13% higher than the current fiscal year.

It is assumed that such defence spending will shock lawmakers in the United States.

It is also noted that the Pentagon’s request will be $961 billion, while in January the agency was allocated $848 billion.

Donald Trump earlier appointed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as national security adviser instead of Mike Waltz.
