It is not yet known how many and which goods are on the “white list”. According to one of the sources, the authorities directly contact companies and inform them about the exemption from duties of certain categories of products.
The publication notes that such a non-public approach allows Beijing to maintain an image of a tough stance in the trade war with the US, while unofficially making concessions.
Previously, China has already cancelled duties on some US semiconductors in a non-public manner.
