AP: Canada’s prime minister says a previous era in relations with the U.S. is over

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a speech after winning parliamentary elections that the previous relationship with the US is over.

The Associated Press reported.

‘We have experienced the shock of the US betrayal, but we must never forget its lessons … President Trump is trying to break us so America can take over. That will never happen!’ – Mark Carney stated.

In addition, the Canadian prime minister promised that his cabinet will focus on strengthening the national economy and reducing dependence on the American market.

Earlier, Carney said that the Canadian government will start tariff negotiations with the administration of US President Donald Trump in early May.
