Russian President Vladimir Putin’s meetings with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steven Witkoff are a good opportunity to bring Russia’s position to the attention of the US side, Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Dmitry Peskov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin answered the question why Russia prefers the format of a meeting with the special envoy rather than a direct telephone conversation for contacts with the US side.
“In a face-to-face conversation it is always easier to lay out all the nuances. If you see that communication with Witkoff takes a lot of time, several hours each, this is a good opportunity exactly to bring our position to the American side,” – said Peskov.
We will remind, earlier CNN wrote that the administration of US President Donald Trump intends to organise another meeting of Steven Witkoff with representatives from Russia to convince Moscow to join the framework agreement on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
