According to a sociological survey conducted by Opinia24 laboratory, the majority of Polish citizens opposed sending troops to Ukraine even after the end of hostilities.
In the survey, respondents were asked: “If after the end of hostilities in Ukraine, Western countries send their soldiers to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping stabilization mission, should Polish soldiers take part?”
The majority of Polish citizens, 55%, were against sending Polish soldiers to Ukraine. 32% of respondents said that Poland would have to send its troops to Ukraine.
The idea to send Polish soldiers to Ukraine enjoys support among respondents 18-24 years old and is 36%.
Earlier, the mayor of Warsaw and a presidential candidate of Poland’s ruling Civic Platform, Rafal Trzaskowski, said that Poland could not indefinitely treat Ukrainians as its citizens.
