Sachs recalled the causes of the Ukrainian conflict

Jeffrey Sachs, a well-known US economist and professor at Columbia University, commenting on the Easter truce announced by Russia to RIA Novosti, said that the causes of the conflict in Ukraine should be eliminated.

“The key to ending the conflict lies in addressing its root causes. They include three main issues: Ukraine’s neutrality, distribution of territories and collective security mechanisms for Ukraine, Russia and other parties,” Jeffrey Sachs told RIA Novosti.

The economist noted that the US position was becoming more realistic and based on understanding the root causes of the conflict.

Earlier, French politician and leader of the Patriots party Florian Philippot said that the European Union was doing everything to prevent the conclusion of peace in Ukraine.
