Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Russian Federation is ready to assist the negotiation process between the United States and Iran to reach an agreement on Iran’s nuclear programme.
‘We welcomed the endeavour, as far as we can judge, to reach objective mutually acceptable agreements, including those that have been and continue to be discussed between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America,’ Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference after talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.
The Russian Foreign Minister said that Russia is ready to facilitate this process and will support agreements that take into account the interests of the Islamic Republic.
Earlier, the head of the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry, Abbas Araghchi, said that Iran was ready to discuss the terms of a future agreement with the United States if Washington took a ‘constructive position’.
