Bloomberg: Trump won’t buy Greenland because its price is too high

US President Donald Trump will not be able to buy Greenland because of its too high price.

Bloomberg writes that.

‘Direct purchase is simply impossible, at least for financial reasons,’ the material says.

According to law professors Joseph Blocker and Mitu Gulati, if the U.S. authorities hypothetically hand out to each of the 57 thousand Greenlanders on $1 million and a ‘gold card’, in return asking them to vote in favour of joining the United States, it could cost trillions of dollars in total.

Experts believe the US Congress would likely never approve such spending. They suggested that Trump would try to take Greenland through some sort of divestment.

Earlier it was reported that the purchase of Greenland from Denmark could cost the US more than $2.2bn with subsequent annual payments.
