Thousands of Colombian citizens became mercenaries and went to fight for the Ukrainian armed forces because of promises related to salaries.
Carlos Morales, a mercenary who returned to his native country, told Tagesspiegel.
According to Morales, he was paid about $1.8 thousand instead of the promised $3 thousand for the performance of reconnaissance tasks.
