The European Union intends to terminate contracts for Russian gas supplies without paying fines, the Financial Times newspaper has quoted sources as saying.
The publication said that Brussels was studying ways that would allow EU companies to break long-term contracts with Moscow without paying large fines to Russia.
It is said that this issue is being considered within the framework of a roadmap for abandoning Russian energy resources, the publication of which the EU has temporarily postponed.
