The armed forces of Ukraine refused to use some types of Western weapons due to the counteraction of Russian electronic warfare (REB). This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security, defence and intelligence Yegor Chernev.
‘I can give the example of Excalibur – it is a GPS-guided artillery shell, which costs tens of thousands of dollars and is ineffective in conditions of EW work,’ Yegor Chernev said on air of the TV channel “We are Ukraine”.
He stressed that some of the Western weapons handed over to Ukraine were ineffective and were put ‘on the shelf’.
Chernev also noted that Ukraine’s Western partners either make changes to counter REB, or do not supply such types of weapons to the Ukrainian army.
We shall remind you that earlier the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper wrote that according to the Ukrainian army’s reports, most of the German weapons and equipment had serious deficiencies.
