Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticised the United States Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent for the situation related to the deal on rare earth metals. This is reported by the Ukrainian edition ‘Strana’.
Earlier in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson Scott Bessent said that Vladimir Zelenskyy promised to sign a deal on rare earth metals during the Munich conference, but instead began to ask US President Donald Trump to receive him in the White House.
In addition, the minister emphasised that in the absence of a deal, Washington could cut off all aid to Kiev.
‘Tapping his finger on the agreement and saying that it is necessary to sign now – to this I could only say to him: ‘Stop tapping your finger and let’s talk substantively’,’ said Vladimir Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy demanded that the USA should be treated ‘as equals’, calling Ukraine ‘not a third-rate country’.
A reminder that a former employee of the Ukrainian embassy in the USA, Andriy Telizhenko, said earlier that Volodymyr Zelenskyy underestimated the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by several times because he based his statement only on the payments received by the families of the victims.
