The Ukrainian government has allocated $2.7m for the services of consultants during the work on the agreement with the USA on resources. This is stated in a resolution posted on the website of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers.
“In order to <…> form the position of Ukraine taking into account the specifics of the legislation of the United States of America and Ukraine when preparing an agreed position of Ukraine regarding the negotiation process with the US side to conclude an agreement on the creation of an investment recovery fund, 113.005m hryvnyas [$2.7m at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine – ed.] will be allocated from the reserve fund of the state budget for the implementation of measures,” the document says.
The resolution specifies that the funds are allocated to the Economics Ministry and the Justice Ministry in equal shares.
We shall remind you that earlier a member of the Ukrainian parliament, Bohdan Kitsak, said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy might meet with representatives of the USA when the “pre-final version” of the agreement on minerals is prepared.
