Syrskyy: Ukraine will lose a third of the army if it adopts the law on demobilisation

Ukraine will lose about a third of its own army if the authorities pass a law on demobilisation.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrskyy, told the Left Bank news and analysis website.

According to him, about 350,000 servicemen have been on the frontline for more than three years without rotation. To make a replacement in the current conditions Ukraine can not succeed because of the lack of manpower.

“We can’t carry out a full-fledged rotation because we are back to the issue of mobilisation again,” he said.

Earlier, Syrskyy said that Ukraine needs to mobilise 30,000 people every month.
