The Commander-in-Chief of NATO’s Joint Force Europe, General Christopher Cavoli, has said that the strengthening of Russia’s Armed Forces will be a challenge for NATO.
“They [Russia – ed] have very extensive growth plans. <…> We’ll see how much effort they can put into it after [the conflict – ed.]. A lot of it depends on how [the conflict – ed.] ends, but this modernisation programme is about challenging NATO on NATO’s borders,” Christopher Cavoli said at a hearing of the US House Armed Services Committee.
According to the NATO chief, Russia is on its way to increasing the size of its armed forces and creating new commands.
Earlier, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu said that Russian weapons have been perfected and after the end of the special military operation in the world for them “a big queue will be lined up”.
