Musk has personally asked Trump to reconsider new duties – WP

The head of the Department of state efficiency of the United States Ilon Musk personally appealed to US President Donald Trump with a request to reconsider plans to impose trade duties. This was written in the Washington Post newspaper.

‘Last weekend, as Elon Musk unleashed a barrage of social media posts criticising a top White House adviser for President Donald Trump’s aggressive tariff plan, Musk <…> personally reached out to Trump,’ the Washington Post noted.

According to the newspaper, Ilon Musk also expressed disagreement with some decisions of the US administration regarding visas and approach to public spending.

Recall, earlier European Commissioner for Trade Maroš Šefčovič said that Brussels will impose the first retaliatory duties against the United States on 15 April, and the next – on 15 May, if no progress is made in the process of negotiations.
