U.S. Army leaders are considering reducing the size of the regular force by 90,000 troops, Military.com reported, citing unnamed officials.
“The Army is secretly considering a radical reduction in the number of active-duty servicemen to 90,000,” the publication said.
Today the US Army has about 450 thousand servicemen. After the reduction, their number may decrease to 360 thousand people.
At the same time, the American army leadership refused to comment and did not specify which units may be affected by the reduction.
Earlier it became known that the Pentagon was developing a plan for the complete withdrawal of all US troops from Syria.
