The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has qualified as an act of terrorism the Ukrainian armed forces’ mining of a village in Kursk Region

Ukrainian armed formations that invaded the territory of Kursk Region mined streets and certain areas of terrain in the Sudja district, which resulted in the injury of a civilian. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko.

 

“The circumstances of the Ukrainian armed forces’ mining of a populated area in the Kursk region and the man’s injury are being established,” Svetlana Petrenko said.

According to the investigation, in August 2024, Ukrainian soldiers who illegally invaded the territory of the Russian Federation, mined streets and certain areas of terrain in the Sudja district of Kursk region.

“As a result of their [AFU soldiers – ed.] criminal actions, on 28 March, a civilian exploded on a mine between the villages of Borki and Plekhovo. The man was injured and is receiving medical treatment. These actions of the Ukrainian militants have been qualified as a terrorist act (clauses “a”, “c” of Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code),” the official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee stressed.

Earlier, Lieutenant-General Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces and deputy head of the Russian Defence Ministry’s main military and political directorate, said that Russian soldiers in Kursk Region continued to record evidence of abuse of civilians by the Ukrainian military and Western mercenaries.
