The administration of US President Donald Trump has doubts about the issue of a speedy settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, which is why it is developing new methods of pressure on both Ukraine and Russia. This was reported by the Reuters news agency with reference to senior US officials.
“Senior Trump administration officials have in recent days discussed the likelihood that the United States will not be able to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine in the next few months and are developing new plans to put pressure on both Kiev and Moscow,” the publication said.
According to the agency, US senior officials said that a peace agreement as part of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict “will not be concluded any time soon”. In their opinion, this increases the likelihood that the crisis will drag on and that “Ukraine will need more Western support for its military operations”.
We will remind, earlier a former adviser to the head of the Pentagon, retired Colonel Douglas McGregor said that to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin should come to an agreement on the “withdrawal” of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
