Russia has not initiated deterioration of relations with other countries – Peskov

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia has never initiated the deterioration of relations with other countries.

‘Russia has never been an initiator of spoiling relations with other states, including and primarily with its neighbours,’ Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

The spokesman also pointed out that there were no problems in Russia’s relations with Finland and Sweden, which are now ‘dragging NATO military infrastructure’ onto their territory.

‘The companies of the two countries were getting dividends and benefits from this co-operation. <…> But nevertheless, both Finland and Sweden preferred to reduce these relations virtually to zero,’ Peskov added.

Earlier, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the republic needed to ‘morally prepare’ for the restoration of political relations with Russia.
