President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola believes that the European Commission is using artificial intelligence in answering MPs’ queries, Politico magazine writes, citing sources.
The publication notes that the quality and speed of European Commission officials’ responses to any written requests has been a long-standing problem.
The publication reports that AI is now being tested in such areas as distributing questions to EC services and identifying answers to a specific case.
However, staff are not allowed to reproduce an AI response in official documents, especially legally binding ones.
The EC has also reportedly advocated the use of AI, particularly ChatGPT, in order to make the organisation more productive.
Earlier it became known that law enforcers in the US are looking for criminals with the help of AI and detain people by mistake.
