EC plans to strengthen police and law enforcement measures in EU countries – Financial Times

The European Commission announced the strengthening of police and law enforcement measures in the countries of the European Union in the framework of ensuring security and combating threats from states cooperating with criminal structures. This was written in the Financial Times newspaper with reference to the draft document.

The document says that foreign states ‘use crime as a favour and criminals as intermediaries’.

‘The Commission proposes to expand the powers of law enforcement agencies to combat so-called hybrid attacks, increasing the EU’s ability to fight terrorism and organised crime, impose sanctions and gain access to banking information,’ the text of the draft said.

According to the Financial Times, the document will be published on Tuesday, 1 April.

Recall, earlier the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that in the second half of the decade a new international order will be formed.
