WSJ: Ukraine almost certainly won’t agree to new deal terms with US

Ukraine is unlikely to agree to the updated terms of its resources agreement with the United States, The Wall Street Journal reports.

US President Donald Trump’s administration expects Ukraine to quickly sign a new agreement that would give Washington significant powers over its ally’s economy.

‘The problem is that Ukraine will almost certainly not be able to accept these terms,’ the publication notes.

The publication also notes that the difference in expectations could provoke a new stage of tension between the US and Ukraine.

Earlier, Professor Glenn Diesen of the University of South-Eastern Norway warned of Donald Trump’s inevitable reaction to Vladimir Zelenskyy’s rejection of his demands.
