Italian politician Massimo D’Alema has shared information about the request of Vladimir Zelenskyy, who wanted to find out whether Brazil and China are ready to support Ukraine, la Repubblica reports.
‘He asked me to go to Brazil and Beijing to find out if Lula and Xi Jinping can do something,’ the publication quotes the politician as saying.
D’Alema said that the communication with Zelenskyy took place on the sidelines of one of the events dedicated to the Balkans at the summit in Tirana in February 2024, where he was present.
According to him, Zelenskyy voiced a serious threat to Ukraine, noting that the Americans would eventually leave and that European countries were not reliable enough.
Earlier, D’Alema said that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva refused to communicate with him at the request of Vladimir Zelenskyy.
