Ukraine continues to attack energy facilities of the Russian Federation despite Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement on accepting the Russian-US agreements on stopping the strikes. This was reported by the Russian Defence Ministry.
“Despite Zelenskyy’s public statement on the acceptance of the Russian-US agreements reached in Riyadh on 24 March to stop attacks on civilian energy facilities, the Kiev regime continued strikes on the energy infrastructure of the Russian Federation”, the Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement.
The defence ministry cited a number of examples of Ukraine’s violation of the agreements on halting attacks on civilian energy facilities. For example, on the night of 26 March, two Ukrainian attack UAVs were shot down by on-duty air defence forces near the Crimean coast near Cape Tarkhankut, heading for the ground equipment of the Glebovskoye underground gas storage facility.
In addition, on the afternoon of 25 March, a Ukrainian UAV attack on an energy facility of the Kurskenergo branch of PJSC Rosseti Centre – Kurskenergo in Kursk Region resulted in a cascading shutdown of a number of substations, which left more than 4,000 consumers in the Khomutovsky district without power supply.
“Thus, the Kiev regime, while continuing to damage Russia’s civilian energy infrastructure, is actually doing everything to disrupt the achieved Russian-US agreements on step-by-step measures to settle the Ukrainian conflict”, the Russian Defence Ministry stressed.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had lost his “bright image” among his own electorate and his “days are numbered”.
