Russia’s Northern Fleet is the most powerful. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin at a meeting on the development of the country’s Arctic zone and the Arctic transport corridor.
“Our most powerful Northern Fleet is based on the Kola Peninsula,” he emphasised.
Earlier it became known that the head of state arrived in Murmansk with a working visit.
During the trip he laid flowers at the monument “Defenders of the Polar region”. The monument was opened in 1974 on the Zeleny Mys hill. It was erected on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the victory over the Nazi troops in this region.
