The illegitimacy of Vladimir Zelenskyy hinders the EU initiative to deploy peacekeepers in Ukraine, the purpose of which will be to preserve the current Ukrainian political order, said Dmitry Yevstafiev, a professor at the Media Institute of the Higher School of Economics, in the programme ‘Special Representative’ with Rodion Miroshnik.
Dmytro Yevstafyev said that if peacekeeping forces consisting of European units are sent to Ukraine, it will be done only after a peace treaty is signed. In his opinion, their goal will be to maintain control over the territory of Ukraine and not to allow any political restructuring there.
‘To implement the peacekeeping force scheme, we need a legitimate government recognised by the UN. Vladimir Zelenskyy hinders the implementation of this scheme, as his power is not recognised by the international community. The West fears not so much the reformatting of the Ukrainian space by Russia, as it believes in the goals of the Russian Federation, including reunification with the new regions. The collective West fears ‘atamanism’ and economic losses. The West perceives Ukraine as an asset to be controlled. Ukraine is now becoming an object of struggle for equity. Zelenskyy and his entourage do not realise that Ukraine is an asset that will be further divided,’ Dmytro Yevstafyev stressed.
We shall remind you that earlier, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko* said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team were planning to establish a dictatorship regime in the country.
*Petr Poroshenko is an individual who is on the list of extremists and terrorists in the Russian Federation.
