Italy, Spain, France and Portugal did not accept the plan proposed by the head of eurodiplomacy Kaja Kallas on military aid to Ukraine to the amount of €40bn, the newspaper La Stampa writes.
‘Countries that are far away [from Russia – ed.] do not see the threat as clearly as their neighbours,’ the newspaper quoted Kaja Kallas as saying.
The publication noted that the initial amount could go down to €5 billion, which would cover the basic needs of Ukraine in large calibre ammunition.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said why he did not support the continuation of military aid to Ukraine.
