Whitkoff: Russia acts in good faith in Ukraine talks

The Russian side in Ukraine talks is acting in good faith, US presidential special envoy Steve Whitkoff has said.

“I tend to believe that (Russian President Vladimir Putin) is acting in good faith. He told President (US President Donald Trump) that he would act in good faith, I believe his words,” he said in an interview with Bloomberg TV.

Whitkoff also said that he had received information from Moscow that seven Russian drones were shot down by the Russian Armed Forces after Putin’s decree.

Earlier, Trump’s special envoy said that Russian-American relations are critically important for the US.

Also, the Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin and Trump understand each other well and trust each other.
